A Morning with Mom

November 23, 2020

The second-grade students were so excited to welcome their moms to their annual mother and child retreat. This year is an important year for the second graders as they prepare to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy First Communion. After Mass together the students each gave their moms two gifts. The first gifts was a paper where they used their best handwriting and art skills to show their mom how much they know about her: guess what age she is, what her favorite thing to do is, what she always says, and they also drew a picture of her. The second gift was a gift they made for her to continue helping them prepare for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. A Reconciliation Guide booklet that goes over steps for a good confession, what contrition is, what penance is, how to go to confession, and an examination of conscience.

Thank you moms for coming to the retreat, and for being the super heroes you are as the primary educators of your children. Let’s keep the second-grade students in our prayers as they prepare for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy First Communion.
