Annual Thanksgiving Food Drive

November 24, 2021

Each year Everest families and students come together to partner with Lighthouse of Oakland County to help provide Thanksgiving meals for those in needs. A representative from Lighthouse came out to Everest early in the drive and shared with students that Lighthouse would be providing Thanksgiving meals for 2,000 families this November.

The school collected thousands of items this year, totaling to nearly 1,700 pounds. EC students participated in a competition by class to collect items. Student government organizes a "You Bring the Dinner. We'll Bring the Pie" campaign, which involves name drawing and pies full of whipped cream for classes who meet their goal. We will leave the rest to the imagination. Academy student council members help to load the thousands of items that elementary and middle school students contributed. This Thanksgiving, we are grateful for all our blessings and pray for those in need.
