Blessing of the Pets

October 4, 2021

Each year on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, Everest students and their families bring their pets for a special blessing. It is always a fun morning, but this year we had a few extra special guests. While not a first, it has been several years since we've had a horse show up for the blessing. Taylor Whitkopf, Everest equestrian, brought in Hank. Charlie Muñoz also brought his pet snake, Juney! #SemperAltius

Blessed are you, Lord God,

maker of all living creatures.

On the fifth and sixth days of creation,

you called forth fish in the sea,

birds in the air, and animals on the land.

You inspired St. Francis to call all animals

his brothers and sisters.

We ask you to bless this animal.

By the power of your love,

enable [him or her] to live according to your plan.

May we always praise you

for all your beauty in creation.

Blessed are you, Lord our God, in all your creatures! Amen
