Do You Know Your Blood Type?

"We typed our blood in AP Bio, using test cards. The chemicals on the card interacted with three types of proteins on the surface of our red blood cells. The presence, or absence, of those antigens determines our blood type. The rarest, type AB -, is the blood type found in the Eucharistic miracles all over the world. This blood type is also known as the Universal Recipient, because the people can receive any other blood type. Three of the 25 people in class had type AB +, the third rarest type. Only .6 percent of all the people in the world have type AB - blood. The second rarest is B -, while the third rarest is AB +, with just around 2 percent of people worldwide expressing this phenotype." -Mrs. Krista Willertz
