Expanding Robotics Programs

May 16, 2022

EC students are hard at work building computers as Everest's robotics program continues to expand. The new computers will be utilized in Everest's improved robotics lab. All the work to build the computers is done by students under Mr. Nguyen's supervision.

Everest's course offerings currently include two robotics electives for high school students. Students learn basic principles of engineering, computational thinking, and embedded programming. The introductory course is heavily project-based as students apply their knowledge to design, build and program a functioning robot.

In Robotics II, student design and improve their own drivetrain, integrate variety of sensors, and make physical modifications to their robots. In addition to more complicated C++ programming concepts, students also learn computer aided design (CAD) and 3-D printing.
