Learning from Mr. Breitschuh

November 4, 2019

Everest Academy's preschool through second-grade students participated in an in-house field trip. The group greeted Mr. Breitschuh, facilities manager, in the cafeteria where he told students all about his job. He explained what he and his team do on a daily basis to make the school run smoothly. Some of the daily work includes mowing the lawn, cleaning the buildings, and making sure everything is in working order.

Mr. Breitschuh showed the students on his computer how he change the temperature in each classroom and unlock the classroom door. The kids found this to be very exciting! The kids then cheered - very loudly - when he said he was going to give the group a tour of the basement.

Kindergarteners shared their highlights:

“I liked when we were in the basement.” – Connor

“I think it is cool that he is so far away (in the powerhouse), but can still control things.” - Zachary
