Oh When the Saints...

The month of November begins with the celebration of All Saints' Day! Students and teachers begin the day with Mass for the holy day of obligation. For a Catholic school student, the season always means two costumes: one for Halloween and one for All Saints' Day. Many of our students look far more angelic than perhaps they are behaving after the Halloween sugar rush.

After All Saints' Day Mass, the students join in the procession with all the students dressed in their saint costumes led by the band students playing When the Saints Go Marching In.

Elementary formation coordinator shared, "It was fun to see all the costumes. My favorite part as I paraded around the halls was holding preschooler Finn's hand, dressed as the cutest St. Juan Diego I have ever seen. When we got to the middle school kids, they started clapping calling Finn’s name. Finn turned to me and said, 'But today isn’t my birthday.' "

In the afternoon, middle students hosted activities and games with prizes for the little saints. The day is a highlight for all students and a day to celebrate those who have lived their faith in exemplary and heroic ways.
