Preschoolers Preparing for Next Steps

"Playing with Mrs. Pruchnicki" is a fun part of preschoolers' days as they are meeting one-on-one for a Gesell Developmental Screening Observation assessment which helps guide placement for students in junior kindergarten or kindergarten. The optional Everest junior kindergarten program is the equivalent to a Young 5's program and provides additional time for social, emotional, and academic development. Kindergarten and junior kindergarten at Everest Academy are designed to cultivate confident, responsible, engaged students. At this age, we emphasize learning through age-appropriate skills and habits. A child's placement is not a reflection of knowledge, but of developmental readiness, ensuring that each child will be provided the supports to help him or her be completely successful as they continue to grow and learn.
