Second-Grade Retreat with Mom

As the second-grade classes continue to prepare for their reception of the Sacrament of First Holy Communion, they excitedly welcomed their moms on March 16 for their class retreat. During Mass, Fr. Thomas took advantage to explain various expects of Mass and why as Catholics we do what we do in Mass. After a reflection led by Miss Rose and some fellowship time, the students and moms made a beautiful craft together, to help remind the students of Jesus's Real Presence in the Eucharist. On the back, there is space for them to record the date, place, and who celebrated their First communion. We look forward to honoring all of the second grade students on May 20 when we will celebrate them with a special lower elementary Mass to which the second graders may wear their First Communion outfits.
