Sixth Graders Share Wonder

March 16, 2019

Last Tuesday, the sixth-grade girls attended their annual class retreat at Queen of the Family Retreat Center. The day was centered around the theme of friendship, reflecting on the movie Wonder. It was an opportunity to find the “wonder” in each of their classmates and in themselves, knowing that God loves each one of them in their uniqueness.

Students participated in Mass and adoration; they presented skits in which they thought of best ways to be a good friend to others; and they participated in “The Kindness Games”, which consisted of different competitions they had to engage in to defeat the enemies of friendship such as negative thinking, selfishness, criticism and gossip, fear of what others will think, and impatience.

At the end of the retreat the girls wrote little notes on each other’s wonder posters, telling them of the “wonder” they find in them.
