Spellers Advance to Finals

This week students in 2nd-8th grades participated in in-class spelling bees. For second-grade students, this is their first experience of a formal spelling bee. Students in 3rd-8th grades compete within their classrooms for the top three spellers. The finalists will advance to the spelling bee finals on Thursday, January 21.

Students followed spelling bee protocol of announcing the word, spelling it, and then repeating the words. Teachers provided students with clear pronunciations and protocol for students to momentarily lower their masks to spell their word to assure proper pronunciation.
