Becoming Who They’re Called to Be: Freshman Seminar

September 14, 2026

Last week, the freshman class had their first high school seminar. The class took a morning to prepare for a new version of themselves as they enter high school. They started with an intro activity led by Mrs. Van Wagoner and asked themselves "Who are you now, and who do you want to be when you graduate in four years?" The ECYD missionaries planned a fun activity that required teamwork and coordination among classmates. Miss Regina Doyle prepared two seniors, Rory Plunkett and Mira Pietras, to speak to the freshmen about how to have the best high school experience. Mrs. Ciaramella, the high school counselor, offered a presentation on growth mindset and positive thinking for academic success. Father Thomas ended the morning in the chapel allowing the students the opportunity to write their future selves a letter, one that they will receive back at their senior seminar. Overall, it was an awesome morning of getting to know themselves better, spending time with classmates, and preparing for a great year.
